Serendipity

Charter Yacht Eco-Sailing in the British Virgin Islands

An Eco-Sailing Adventure!   Available for captain only and fully crewed charters.

To sail with Trish Baily on the Beneteau 50 Serendipity is to share her knowledge and enthusiasms for sailing, for bird watching, for hiking, for snorkeling, for unusual anchorages that allow these activities to happen, and above all, for coral-reef ecology and preservation. . . . Trish’s version of eco-chartering. . . encompasses the best of all possible worlds – plenty of sailing ( the wheel is yours if you want it), plenty of walking ashore, and a snorkel on every reef.”

Your Captain:

Trish Baily has been living and working on boats worldwide for nearly 25 years.
She has captained charter vessels in the
British Virgin Islands
since 1988 and has been Captain/Manager of Serendipity since 1993.

Personal attention is given prior to your charter to help you form an itinerary
that will fit your expectations and needs.

Trish's love of sailing, her extensive knowledge and interest in the islands, their reef systems and the marine environment will add a new dimension to your time in the islands making Serendipity a perfect choice for your vacation.

Captain Only Charters:

Designed for those who seek less structure than on a fully crewed boat. You are not tied to pre- planned meal times and menus and it is easier to take each day as it comes. If you charter with just the captain it is assumed you will participate in the sailing of the yacht .

For those with sailing experience this is the perfect alternative to bareboating. If it's your first time sailing you will love the freedom, fun and hands on experience of being on board one of the BVI’s top charter vessels.

Tortola looked wild as we sailed along the sparsely populated North Coast. We anchored in Brewer’s Bay, alone, over a wedge of sandy bottom flanked by shallow reefs. Off the point to the north we swam through curtains of small fry suspended in the water. They opened a passageway for us. And then opened again as five tarpon circled, 4 ft long, full bodied fish with burnished scales and down-turned mouths like herrings.

If you choose, when you arrive your provisions can be on board, stowed and chilled. The boat has large refrigerator/freezer capacity, a cooler on deck for drinks, a 3 burner propane stove and oven and a good selection of cooking equipment so that food preparation on board can be fun, and easy. There is a large charcoal BBQ on the stern.

Trish keeps the boat stocked with a wide variety of herbs and spices and condiments that you are welcome to use. AND - Trish will bake the bread - a Serendipity specialty - and is also not adverse turning out a slab of Brownies if you need a chocolate fix.
